Jury

In addition to the category winners, GAA Judges can also select one winner as the Judges' Choice. This award recognizes an affordable vehicle (priced under the luxury car tax threshold) that has made the greatest contribution to the Ghanaian market or is deemed by the Judges as the stand-out winner either through its technology, safety, innovation or ability to meet or exceed consumer expectations. It must offer good fuel efficiency relative to its class and perform its intended function well. The Judges are drawn from the Ghana Automobile Association, Vehicle Inspection Companies, DVLA and skilled Auto Mechanics in the country

THE JURY


Mr. Samuel Oppong - Chief Executive Officer of S-Class Services Ltd

Mr. Samuel Oppong is the Chief Executive Officer of S-Class Services Ltd. He is an Auto-mobile engineer, trained in Germany. He has worked 5 years with the US-Army in Germany, where he carried out repairs and servicing of military vehicles. Mr. Oppong also trained and worked with international companies like Bosh and Mercedes Benz companies in Germany. He initiated and partnered with DVLA to do head lamp test in 18 DVLA Centers

Here his main job was vehicle examination with ultra modern drive-through test machines. He is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the company. Mr. Oppong makes sure that the company stays in business every time.

He is responsible for the job creation of the company, and forms the basic partner for project evaluation and monitoring. This gives the hint that he is the main initiator of the vehicle examination project of S-Class Services Ltd. Mr. Oppong also owns the SAMOP Company Ltd, an import and export company. He is the deputy managing director of VITARA HOTEL Ltd


Mr. Lee Raymond Barber - Director, Vehicle Inspection Stations-Bivac International Ghana

Mr Raymond Barber has served full 5 year apprenticeship in UK with British Leyland franchise. He attended RTITB ( Road Transport Institution Training Board ). He has had training with Cummins Engines, Rolls Royce, Eaton Transmissions. Lee has gained qualifications in National Examination Board Occupation Safety and Health (QHSE NEBOSH).

He moved into Marine, serving in the British Merchant Navy as Engineer on world's largest ocean. He has gained many engineering qualifications including cranes and heavy lifting equipment , roll on roll of vessels etc . He returned ashore working in the Petro chemical industries as Engineer on all major oil refineries . Then he entered Road Transport as Fleet Engineer/ General Manager in charge of fleet hire , engineering , repairs , accident repair to insurance standards and preparation of vehicles to VOSA road safety standards.

He later joined his present company in Ghana 2008 where he has managed the completion of 11 lane modern vehicle testing stations, largest in Africa , with latest technology. He currently manages vehicle inspection stations and VIS ( Vehicle Inspection Services). He Supports DVLA Ghana and over looks company office in Ireland for RSA road Safety Authority contract . He is also a representative of the company in CITA Global Body for PTI and vehicle inspection.

Mr Barber is a holder of Veterans Medal issued under the Secretary of State for UK for Service in conflict and war zone . Mr. Lee Barber is a Chartered Member CMILT International (Institute Logistics and Transport ), Engineering Technician ) IRTE Professional Sector , member of the Institute Road Transport Engineers (MIRTE), Society Operational Engineers (MSOE). He also a member at Licentiateship City and Guilds Institute- Great Britain(LCGI).


Ivan N.Y.Omari - Operations Manager, F. Darkwa & Co

Ivan Omari worked as Operations Manager at F. Darkwa & Co and rose through the ranks to become the General Manager/Fleet Manager in 2006. A position he held for four years. Ivan served as the General Manager/Fleet Manager for Auto Quest and Western Group Publication.

As a former manager at Motortech MBG he holds certificate in Logistics and Transport from GIMPA. He brings to bear over 20 years of experience in the Auto industry. Currently he is the Managing Director at Automedics Ghana







Chris Kusi Appiah - Managing Director, Motor Tech Ghana and Auto Jewelling Ltd

Chris Kusi is the Founder and CEO of Auto Jewelling with over 15 years international experience in the Automotive Industry, now specializing in vehicle paint correction, paintless dent removal and vehicle diagnostics.

With prestigious accreditations from the United Kingdom’s Institute of Motoring Industries ( IMI) and others such as Dentrix PDR Systems, Pico Technology, Autologic Vehicle Diagnostics Solutions.

Trained as a professional Graphic Designer, he managed to incorporate the principles of art coupled with his strong analytical skills in nurturing his childhood passion for cars.

His passion and dedication to defy standards spiraled a change in professional car care management systems, making Auto Jewelling the pacesetter in Vehicle Paint Correction in Ghana.
